Non-surgical Face Lift
Over time, skin loses its natural elasticity. While there are creams, lotions, and other beauty products that may produce some improvements to the look of the face, sagging skin sometimes requires a little more attention to restore firmness. Not every patient is comfortable with a traditional surgical facelift or similar procedures. An alternative way to resolve problems involving sagging facial skin is with a technique called PDO threading. This nonsurgical facelift option uses polydioxanone (PDO) threads that are introduced underneath the skin, essentially giving you controlled healing under the skin. It works by stimulating collagen, promoting cellular renewal, and improving skin texture through neovascularisation (formation of new blood vessels to improve circulation).

What is PDO threading?
Polydioxanone (PDO) threading is a nonsurgical facelift treatment commonly used to rejuvenate sagging facial skin. During this procedure, one of the experienced practitioners on the Empire Medical team injects special surgical-grade threads underneath the skin on your face and neck with a fine needle.
The thread is made from polydioxanone — a material that has been used for medical sutures for more than 35 years. Your body absorbs the thread as it dissolves and eliminates it naturally.
The PDO threads lift skin tissue and improve texture. The threads also stimulate the production of new collagen, so your skin continues to lift and rejuvenate in the weeks following the procedure.
How does PDO threading work?
The minimally-invasive PDO face threading treatment involves injecting tiny threads into the deeper layers under the surface of your skin. There is some discomfort during this procedure, but it’s usually well-tolerated. You may request a topical numbing agent to help minimize any discomfort.
Once the skin threads are in place, they lift your facial tissue upward, giving the appearance of smoother, firmer skin. The PDO threads also promote cellular renewal through collagen stimulation, which improves your skin’s texture and elasticity, and diminishes fine lines. This treatment also contracts fatty tissue under your skin, making it appear tighter.
After the threads dissolve and your body eliminates them, your skin continues to appear firmer, slimmer, and smoother as a result of new collagen production.
Which areas of my face can be treated with PDO threading?
PDO skin threading can improve just about every area of your face and neck where you see the signs of aging. It works well to tighten moderately sagging skin and diminish fine lines, including:
How long does threading last?
Your skin will naturally absorb the skin threads in four to six months and the lifting effects can be expected to last up to three years.
Is face and neck threading safe?
The unique threads lift, reposition, and secure areas of sagging skin and wrinkles, all without the side effects of invasive surgeries, and requires only minimal downtime. Additionally, since PDO threads have been used for many years as surgical sutures, it’s a proven, FDA- approved safe procedure.
Can facial threading treatment be used with other skin treatments?
You don’t have to live with the visible signs of aging, and you don’t have to endure painful, invasive surgeries to get the face you want. Get a younger, firmer appearance with PDO threading from the experts at Empire Medical Center.
